The ATC-62 (FEMA P-440A) report, Effects of Strength and Stiffness Degradation on Seismic Response, was funded by the Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA) under the ATC-62 project. (Published 2009, 310 pages).

This report represents the findings and recommendations resulting from an extensive literature search and review of past studies on nonlinear strength and stiffness degradation, and review of available hysteretic models for capturing degrading strength and stiffness behavior. The report also summarizes focused analytical studies which were performed to explore the effects of nonlinear degradation on structural response. It was prepared in response to discussions following the publication of the FEMA 440 Report, Improvement of Nonlinear Static Seismic Analysis Procedure, also available in the ATC Online Store.
