Task Order 21 (ATC-94 Project), Recommendations for Seismic Design of Reinforced Concrete Wall Buildings Based on Studies of the 2010 Maule, Chile Earthquake. Although the collective performance of buildings in the 2010 Maule, Chile earthquake was generally considered to be very good, a number of mid-rise and high-rise buildings experienced heavy damage, and a few collapsed, as a result of the earthquake.
This report presents documentation of reinforced concrete wall failure modes and observed damage following the earthquake and recommendations from studies evaluating critical issues in the design of reinforced concrete walls.
This task has been completed and produced the NIST GCR 14-917-25 report which may be ordered here in hard (printed) copy format.
