The recommended methodology provides a rational basis for establishing global seismic performance factors, including the response modification coefficient (\u003cem\u003eR\u003c\/em\u003e factor), the system overstrength factor (\u003cem\u003e0\u003c\/em\u003e), and deflection amplification factor (\u003cem\u003eCd\u003c\/em\u003e) of new seismic-force-resisting systems proposed for inclusion in model building codes. The report also includes example applications intended to assist users in implementing the methodology and supporting studies.\u003c\/p\u003e\u003cp\u003eIn January 2010, the FEMA P-695 report was awarded the Engineering Excellence Honor Award by the American Council of Engineering Companies California.\u003c\/p\u003e\u003cp\u003eOn March 12, 2010, an erratum regarding the June 2009 edition was published and is available for download.
